Watch Leaaves’ latest video: “It’s Only Splendor”

Be Mindful

“Be Mindful” is the sixth full-length release from Leaaves, the ambient recording project of North Carolina’s ever-prolific Nate Wagner. “It’s Only Splendor” is taken from the aforementioned album and is a gorgeous, hazy slow-burner, that is sure to capture your attention. While vacationing in France last summer, Wagner began an audio journal to preserve the sights, sounds, and solitude of each day, painting an aural portrait of city and countryside. One year on Be Mindful finds its physical on excellent Parisian label ERR REC.

For the “It’s Only Splendor” music video, Wagner teamed up with Finnish filmmaker Jemina Amunét to capture the track’s tranquility and introspection, through a lense of lush trailing visuals and beautiful landscapes.

Very Happy Boy debut track and video: Ice

Very Happy Boy is the moniker of Dublin based musician Sam Cheesmore and “Ice” is his debut track, a heady, sparse electronic jaunt which definitely delivers.

Cheesmore is known to us already for his excellent lo-fi pop jams with Tobi The Dog, who released their debut album late last year but under this new moniker we see Cheesmore take a less lo-fi route, trading in angular guitar riffs for drum machines and lush synth lines. The video itself is a beautifully shot documentation of Cheesmore exploring the Irish coast, shot by prolific young videographer Ethan-Forbes Roe.

Peep the video below, fall in love with something new.

Sohl: Carpe Noctum

SOHL
